Double Take...

I found this picture of Madie taken at the park and I couldn't believe how much she looked like this picture of Emmie taken at the beach! They are about the same age in the photos. Madie's face is rounder and Emmie is more oval but their expression looks so similar to me!!! What do you think?

3 months come and gone!

I can't believe that Emmie is 3 months old already! It is crazy to me! I feel like I just had, and have had her forever!!! How can that be? She is such a joy to have in our family. She LOVES to stand and is constantly trying to do so! Has been for about 6 weeks now no joke! I am pretty sure she will be the early walker that Madie was not. Guess she already can't wait to keep up with her big sister :) Well here are some pics from the last 3 months.

So last Friday night I made plans to get a maternity photo shoot...it never happened :) I woke up at 3:45am to go potty (we definately have a toddler in the house when mama is going potty :) and felt a little tightening and cramping...I crawled back into bed and decided to check the clock and watch to see if it was a contraction or not. Ben woke up from the light on my phone and asked, "Are you having the baby?" I told him I thought I might be since my back was starting to really hurt but that I wasn't convinced yet. I told him I was going to jump in the shower and see if my cramps went away and to listen and make sure I didn't call him while I was in there. So I got off the bed, stood up and my water broke!!! I started laughing and told him I wasn't taking a shower afterall and that my water broke. He asked if I was sure (silly boy) and I said either that or I just peed all my my pee for the day right then! He jumped up and we started calling. First, my mom and told her to get ready to head to the hospital, then Ben's mom to tell her to start driving down from Murrietta, then Annie...oh, Annie :) I called Annie, told her that my water had broken and asked her to come over and be with Madie (a prearranged plan). She answered back with "Well I have to talk to Alex because we are supposed to go snowboarding at 7..." Are you kidding me??? My water broke get over here!!! But I knew that she was half asleep so I told her to talk to him and call me right back knowing that she would wake up and realize waht was happening :) She called me right back and said she was on her way over...She got to the house at about 4:15, and Ben and I loaded ourselves in the car and headed to the hospital. We got there at about 4:45, they got us into a room and I got changed into a lovely blue gown. At about 5:15 they checked me and I was at a 6. The contractions weren't bad and I was able to talk in between them...totally UNLIKE my labor with Madie. They started getting a little more intense around 5:45 so they checked me again and said I was a 7 1/2 but went to a 9 when I contracted. So they started prepping the room. At 6 I told the nurse that i was starting to get alot of pressure and that I didn't think pushing was too far off so she checked me again and said I was an 8 and to let her know if I felt like pushing...At 6:15 I had the worst contraction and told her that The pressure was really bad but I wasn't pushing yet...she checked me again and I was at a 10 so she started washing her hands and everyone was starting to move faster :) The next contraction there was a lot of pressure and then it turned into a push contraction. I said I was pushing and Emily was out!!! 6:30 on the dot :) She started crying right away and then they said she peed everywhere :) I guess we both felt relieved :) She has been so much fun this week and Madie is a natural big sister. She loves to hold her and kiss her head and always gets a sad look when Emmy starts crying...I feel very blessed to have my girls. Here are some photos that my good friend Mandi took of her in the hospital. I will add some more candid shots of the two girls as soon as I get a second :)

She weighed 7lbs even and was 18" long, we think she looks alot like Madie, just smaller. She also has the same tone to her voice that Madie has :) They are definately sisters!
